Multiple staff members insisted the BIN checker was “never wrong” and treated it as absolute proof, despite this being a well-known unreliable method of classifying cards. No proper verification was attempted. Staff refused to try a pre-authorisation, refused my suggestion to check the card product directly, and even refused to look at the card details in my banking app. The BIN result was treated as “gospel”.Because of this, I was told the only way to proceed with the hire was to purchase additional insurance that I did not want. After raising a complaint, the Gatwick branch manager investigated the issue and confirmed in writing that they were at fault and that a £120 refund would be issued, stating it would take up to 28 days. The refund never arrived. When I followed up, instead of honouring the decision already made, they completely contradicted their own investigation outcome and claimed no refund would be issued, ignoring the earlier admission of fault.Since then, further attempts to resolve the issue through customer services and social media have simply been ignored. So the situation is now:•Staff incorrectly rejected a valid credit card•I was forced to buy additional insurance to proceed•Management investigated and admitted fault•A refund was approved in writing•The company then refused to honour its own decision•Subsequent contact has been ignoredI believe the original situation raises serious concerns about misleading commercial practices, as I was given definitive and incorrect statements about my card’s eligibility and denied any meaningful verification route before being pushed into purchasing additional insurance. This has been an unnecessarily frustrating experience for what should have been a straightforward issue to resolve. If this is how the company handles mistakes — first denying them, then admitting fault, then ignoring the outcome — I would strongly recommend thinking twice before renting from this branch. This also leaves an obvious question: was this simply staff misunderstanding how payment verification works, or is rejecting cards based on unreliable BIN databases being used as a way to push customers into buying additional insurance?UPDATE: they have responded to my similar Google Review asking me to submit a customer service request through their online portal so they can help. This is absolutely an attempt to look like they are trying to help, but is entirely misleading. ALL my correspondance with them (including their replies) has been through the Customer Service portal already. Let's see if they try the same response approach here...Drivalia UKwww.drivalia.co.ukChirayu GhaiI ordered the 4.5 kg resealable bag of protein from Optimum Nutrition, but the bag I received does not reseal at all. I even tried removing the protein stuck around the zipper to see if that was the issue, but the zipper simply won’t close. For a product that costs over £120, this is extremely disappointing. The resealable feature is important for maintaining freshness and convenience, ...
